This course introduces students to cultural, economic, political, and social developments that played a fundamental role in shaping the world in which they live. Students will develop a foundational understanding of how political and social institutions have been influenced by historic events. They will discover how communication, philosophy, and artistic expression have developed and changed over time. Students will undergo a rigorous study of factual and interpretative historical material in preparation for the National Advanced Placement Examination in May. A successful performance on this examination normally leads to advanced placement in college courses and/or college credits.
